Mr. Lee is the founder of Cross border E-Commerce Service Group (CBES Group), the president of E-Commerce Association of Hong Kong, the vice president of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business, the mentor of mentorship program of The Trade and Industry Department and the member of One Belt One Road Committee in Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Lee was determined to start the technology business since he was very young. He founded IDS HK Company in 1999 and established his first retail store in Wan Chai selling electronic products and computer hard ware. However, due to the outbreak of SARS in 2003, his retail business thrived less than a year. Nevertheless, with his vision and insight, Lee turned this hardship and challenge into motivation by extruding the limitation of traditional retail stores. Lee took the pioneer advantage before the blooming of e-commerce and successfully found himself a breakthrough for his business. He finally decided to trust his vision and engage in ecommerce industry in full force and shut down the retail store.
Despite of Lee’s innovative successes in online shop, Asian Financial Tsunami in 2008 brought some impacts on his business, especially when the foreign exchange rate of multinational currencies fell dramatically and started to threaten the consumer market. Again, Lee made his own success with his persistent and innovative mindset during this hardship. By investing and establishing overseas warehouses, he streamlined the logistics and distribution flow, so as to reduce the transportation resources. His success was characterized not just by his excellent leadership but also his effort on team-building and his commitment to the industry. Lee has become the first Hong Kong e-commerce entrepreneur to establish a warehouse overseas and his efficient operation business protocol is even widely adopted by the industry nowadays.
In the following years, Lee has been diversifying his business by establishing Avolution (ecommerce operation services), Buyippee (overseas purchasing agency services), Continental Global Service (e-commerce logistics and warehousing services), Ezomnia (e-commerce supply and marketing platform services), Return Helper (e-commerce return service), Repairyi (ecommerce product repairing service), Sellyippee (elevation of e-commerce platform service) and Transyippee (e-commerce translation service). His team has been growing ever since, from the pioneering 10 people to 400 now, and it is still expanding every day to Asia, Europe and the United States. With Lee’s superb ambition and determination to excel in the ecommerce industry in the future, he integrated all the above-mentioned companies and founded the CBES group in 2019.
As one of the industry leaders in Hong Kong, Lee has been playing a major role in e-commerce sector since the past decade. He founded e-Commerce Association of Hong Kong (ECAHK) in 2015; and has been the president since then. At the same time, he was also elected as the vice president of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business to serve SMEs in Hong Kong and has been contributing back to the industry by leveraging his resources and helping SMEs success.
