Mr. Wang is the Head of the Virtual Bank Working Team, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”).
Mr. Wang has over 20 years of financial and digital banking experience. He joined BOCHK’s E-Finance Department in 2017 and led the team promoting FinTech development and digitalization in the areas of e-banking, mobile payment, innovative product development and big data analytics.
Mr. Wang previously led the inter-bank and corporate bank business for WeBank Company Limited, the first digital bank in the Mainland. At WeBank, he managed bank cooperation, payment channels, SMEs and corporate platform online services business development. Prior to this, he joined the Shenzhen Branch of Bank of China and served as the General Manager of Finance Department, General Manager of sub-branch for a number of years. Mr Wang’s strong track-record in the banking industry is demonstrated by his participation in major projects during this time including Bank of China’s equity reform before listing, IT blueprint development and cooperation with international banks.
Mr. Wang graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance in 1998. In 2009, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Finance Program (FMBA) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong – Tsinghua University.
